Armand LaMontagne was born in 1939 and was best-known for his sculptures, with works residing in both the Baseball and Basketball Halls of Fame. This work is a bust of Ted Williams raised on a circular plaque showing exceptional detail right down to the slightest skin wrinkle or beard stubble. Appears to be Williams in mid-career, with the Splendid Splinter in a home Boston Red Sox uniform. It is in exceptional, original Mint condition and measures 18" in diameter. It is signed in the lower-right corner and signed/titled Ted Williams on the reverse. Also on the reverse is the artist's stamp impressed into the back. Stamp reads, "Ted Williams Hand Painted by Armand LaMontagne." Amazing craftsmanship!
