Wonderful record of some of the most famous moments in baseball history. Five volumes in MacGregor scorebooks (4.5x7.5") from this Hall of Fame sportswriter who was inducted into Cooperstown in 1979 as he was presented the J.G. Taylor Spink Award. A dear friend of Stan Musial, Broeg actually coined the term "Stan the Man." On June 23, 1946, a Brooklyn fan at Ebbets Field related to Broeg that the Dodger fans called Musial "The Man," Broeg wrote of it in the St. Louis Post-Disptach and the nickname of "Stan the Man" caught on - for good. All five books are scored in pencil, neatly and perfectly accurate, and in amazing detail. 1) Book #1: Bobby Thomson "1951 Shot Heard 'Round the World" in the third pennant playoff game. Every play is here, Branca et al. Fully scored book begins with the 1951 season. Also contains the second game of the Dodger/Giant playoff. In addition, all six games of the 1951 World Series. Also has 1954 exhibition games of Cardinals versus Yankees, etc. starting in March, and the regular season up until June 10. The book is full. 2) Book #2 Has the complete 1957 World Series only. Yankess of Mantle, Berra, and Ford. The Braves with Aaron and Burdette. All seven games. 30 Book #3: 1954 World Series. Games 1-4. Great detail, yet no special notation of "the Catch," the incredible grab from a blast from the Cleveland Indians' Vic Wertz by Willie Mays at the Polo Grounds in Game 1. Also has games 2-7 of the 1955 World Series, when the Brooklyn Dodgers won their first, and only, World Series triumph. It's all here. The amazing Sandy Amoros catch and the great Johnny Podres pitching. 4) Book #4: Book full. 1946 season of the St. Louis Cardinals. June 2 - October 10. 1946 Playoff Game 1 only. 1946 World Series Games 1-4. 5) Book 5: St. Louis Cardinals versus St. Louis Browns City Series April 12 and 13. Just two games. Countless great moments all in five small scorebooks.
