Interesting poster promoting "Pittsburgh's Greatest Grudge Battle", on Dec. 15, 1942, at Duquense Gardens. Red and black poster has photos of combatants Fritzie Zivic and Carmen Notch, hyping a neighborhood battle, touting Zivic as from "The Strip" and Notch as from "East Liberty", between "Former stablemates, now bitter rivals". The Strip was the tough area where Zivic and his three boxing brothers, "The Fighting Zivics", grew up. In speaking of The Strip, Zivic said, "You either had to fight or stay in the house. We went out." Notch was from the poor neighborhood called East Liberty, on Pittsburgh's East Side. Zivic won by a unanimous 10-round decision. (22x28"). Nice remembrance for both fight fans and collectors of Pittsburgh area memorabilia.
