Great golden age of boxing poster touts upcoming "All Star" amateur fights at Manhattan's New Dyckman Oval, between White and Black boxers, with the Whites representing the Teasdale A.C. of the Bronx, and the Blacks representing the Salem Crescent A.C. of Harlem. All eighteen boxers listed. The Salem Crescent A.C. trained in the basement of the Salem Methodist Church, as the church believed in the use of "energy to fight sin." A young boxer named Walter Smith trained night and day in the church's basement, and later, known by his boxing name of Sugar Ray Robinson, became a legend. Poster has some tearing, mostly at corners, but still presents admirably. Measures 14x22".
