From the special "Golden Age" before the Beatles invaded America and became nuclear. It was so cool that the British got the boys to themselves for a year or two in this era, just prior touring America and becoming huge in Great Britain. The handbill advertises the Beatles as "The North's Top Rock Combo". Very soon The Beatles would go from the top rock group in the North of England to the top rock group in the world. Measures 12.25x 14.25", slightly trimmed as there was a ticket offer to be torn off. At the time of this concert, The Beatles were in a busy and productive period. Ringo Starr had joined the band only about a month before, and working with record company guru George Martin, the band had recorded Love Me Do, but the recording wouldn't be released for ten days. Although the Beatles most common venue was The Cavern, this was their third appearance in three months at the Heswall Jazz Club. Gerry and the Pacemakers, their brethren from Mersey, joined them on the bill. Both Gerry and the Pacemakers and the Beatles were managed by the famous Brian Epstein. Great item from just before The Beatles became THE BEATLES.
