Three-quarters of the '29 Yankee infield. Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig, at left, and Leo Durocher, at right, flank journeyman third baseman Gene Robertson. Where's the other fourth of the infield? Could the uniformed right arm next to Durocher belong to Hall of Fame second baseman Tony Lazzeri? That's a mystery, but the two Hall of Famers "fully" pictured are no mystery. Gehrig is in his prime, hitting 35 homers and driving in 125 runs this season. Durocher - in the HOF for his managing - was no great shakes at bat, but at this time was considered one of the best, if not the best, fielding shortstops in baseball. Nice clarity on the players' expressions.
