Uncut and scrap 19th century material is rare as hens’ teeth. There are only a few known examples of 19th century uncut cards and only this one example from the Duke-issued set Burdick designated N150. N150 is a gigantic set of actor and actress cards issued under various Duke brands including Honest Long Cut. There are four known cards of John L. Sullivan in N150, all deriving from his days as a touring ‘actor’ (his primary stage work was sparring in exhibition bouts). Sullivan N150s are desirable cards in and of themselves but this lot is literally a one-of-a-kind uncut strip of three N150s including two Sullivans. There is some chipping and some of the edges are not cut straight.
