Addendum: In 1975-76 and 76-77, Dryden was awarded the prized Vezina Trophy as the NHL's outstanding goalkeeper and his Canadiens won the Stanley Cup. Also, while the team wore Olympic patches on the shoulders during the 1975-76 season, they did not wear the patches for the entire season.

Selected as one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history, Ken Dryden’s name is always on the short list when the topic turns to the greatest goal keepers of all-time. A graduate of Yale University, where he was a member of the prestigious Skull & Dagger honors society, he to get took a year off in the middle of his Hall of Fame hockey career to earn a law degree from McGill University. On the ice the imposing 6-4 205 Dryden was nothing short of spectacular. Playing a total of just over seven full seasons, Dryden won six Stanley Cups, five Vezina Trophies, a Calder Memorial Trophy, and a Conn Smythe Trophy. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983. Here we present his home red Montreal Canadiens jersey with the Habs crest over the chest, “Dryden” on the verso, and “29” on the back and sleeves, all sewn-on in red/white/blue tackle twill. The jersey has a white v-neck collar and a “Wilson 48” manufacturer’s tag (but actually measures out to a size fifty-two). This exemplar shows evidence of moderate game wear including pliable and fraying identifiers. There is no evidence of there ever having been a fight strap. While the Canadiens didn’t continuously wear names of the backs of their jerseys until it became a league mandate starting in the 1977-78 season, it is documented that they did use names for certain televised games during the 1970’s. This particular exemplar dates from the 1975-77 era.
