Originally seen in the December 1960 issue of Esquire magazine, this image was highlighted in the article entitled, "Highlights of a Golden Decade" by Roger Kahn. Painted by Danial B. Schwartz of New York, this oil on canvas depicts a Baltimore Colt running through a pile of New York Football Giants searching for every yard possible during what is widely referred to as the "greatest game ever played." Known for creating his view of contemporary life through traditional realism, this 32 x 48" rendition of the 1958 NFL Championship Game is full of action, detailed and has a lifelike feel.
