From the Yankee Captain. Tributary 1970s Thurman Munson game worn New York Yankees jacket is one of the few Munson pieces you will see come to the market. Sports original Allladin tag in neck along with size 44 tag as well. Thurman's retired "15" is written on the tag, most likely by longtime Yankees clubhouse man Pete Sheehy, and is quite faded from constant use and multiple washings. Comes with LOA from longtime game used hobbyist Joe DeMattio, who sadly passed away from cancer some years ago. He details that he received the jacket from Tommie Ferguson, an executive of the Milwaukee Brewers. Ferguson was given the jacket by legendary NY Yankees equipment manager Pete Sheehy, who started with the team in the 1920s. Snappy design with classic "NY" logo on front left breast, as well as the Yankees logo on left sleeve. Comes with MEARS LOA as well. For those who saw him play Thurman Munson was like no other. He had grit, determination, and could carry a team on his back. And did. He also had the magical ability to summon something from within at will, a talent that few have. Hall of Famer or not, he is as good as it gets and gave as good as he got. Thurman Munson memorabilia and those that collect it are a rare breed that go about their business with hushed tones and mad respect. Just like The Captain himself.
