This is a VERY IMPORTANT jersey. In 1976 Hall of Famer Robinson was still an active player at the age of forty, but he only played sparingly, having 67 at bats and a .224 average. But the real importance of the jersey is that it was worn during this season by the First African-American manager in Major League History, as Frank Robinson broke the color barrier for managers a full 29 years after Jackie Robinson broke the same barrier as a major player. The Indians had a 81-78 record, finishing 4th. in the American League East. All original blue jersey has "INDIANS" across the front in white on red. On back is "ROBINSON" sewn directly on to the jersey in white with white on red "20" below. Signed on the number in 8/10 black Sharpie. Wahoo logo patch on the left sleeve and Cleveland Spirit of '76 patch on the right sleeve. It can not be stressed enough that all patches and lettering and numbers are original on this jersey - most from this year were sent to minors and things were removed from them. Size 42 tag in collar and "76" year tag on the front tail. Very nice, even use. In our opinion, this rates a 10 out of 10, and we think that most everyone would concur.
