Wonderful card (#35) of the iconic 1956 Topps set, arguably the greatest horizontal set ever. The '56 set was the last Topps set in which the paste-ups were primarily by hand, and this set featured a record 34 Hall-of-Famers. Mantle was coming off a great 1955 campaign, and his boyish, smiling visage on front of card portends an even better '56 season, one in which he would win the Triple Crown and become the American League MVP. Card Graded 7, Near Mint by PSA. Very nice color and registration. Left to right centering is very close to 50/50 and top to bottom is 45/55. Borders are off-white and corners have just hints of wear. Back of card has no marks or stains and is very clean.
