Great vintage poster dates from the zenith of Pistol Pete’s fabulous pro career. We know this image hails from his first or second season in the Crescent City (1974-75/1975-76) because he’s still wearing number “44” and sporting the killer goatee. Tremendous action image of Maravich blazing down the right sidelines on his way to the basket; his head up and the Cavalier’s Austin Carr trying to keep up. Most interesting of all is the fact that these are the two top scorers in NCAA history battling in the pros; Maravich’s collegiate scoring average is 44.2 and Carr’s is 34.5. Poster is signed, “To Pollie Best to You Pistol Pete Feb. 2, 1977” in blue ballpoint pen. 24x36”
