One of the true classic pieces of sports memorabilia. Its rarity has increased through the years, once it was easily located, now not easy at all. More importantly, this is the finest one we have ever seen. It is literally NEAR MINT with 99% of the original paint, which is unheard of. When common mechanical banks such as the Darktown Battery are found in this condition. a normally $3,000-5,000 bank will bring $75,000-100,000 (we kid you not). We believe the future should and will hold the same multiplier for this. Now called the “Ty Cobb” bank, because of some perceived resemblance. Some even call it “Honus Wagner. Closer in our opinion, but still off the mark. Sounds good, but either way who cares. Still an important piece in this condition.
