Scorecard from the June 5, 1961 first game vs the new Minnesota Twins, the first game of a doubleheader won by the Yankees 6-2. The first season Twins (the franchise moved from Washington) led the game 2-0 behind the six inning shutout pitching of Don Lee before the Yankees scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th, taking a 3-2 lead. Then, in the bottom of the 8th with the Yankees needing some insurance runs, Mickey Mantle pounded out his 15th home run, a two-run shot, boosting the Bombers lead to 5-2.

One of the leading areas of collecting now is ticket runs of players home run games, with those runs of Mickey Mantle being the most popular. This scorecard is from the game of Mantle's 15th home run in his famous 1961 season, when he and Roger Maris battled for Babe Ruth's record of 60 home runs.

The scorecard is neatly scored form the bottom of the 5th inning on to the end, and is in excellent overall condition, with fully intact staples and very light peripheral wear.

This is the perfect accompaniment to a Mantle collection of home run stubs.
