One-page letter written from Boston Herald sportswriter, John Drohan, dated June 1, 1955 discussing rumors that Ted Williams was being paid $125,000 for the year. Drohan believes the rumored pay was overstated and based on speculation. He writes, "In regard to your letter of May 26, relaive to Ted Williams' salary being $125,000, that was merely guesswork on the part of the baseball writers who were gathered at Fenway Park during the salary conference." Drohan mentions "my old pal, Dave Bancroft" later in the letter which is probably the reason it ended up in Bancroft's estate. Comes with original stamped and post-marked envelope.
