Wonderful collection of a rare Irene Castle poster as well as several stills of both Vernon and Irene Castle. The couple were famous ballroom dancers from the early 1900s and appeared in Irving Berlin's first Broadway show, Watch Your Step. The poster shows Irene seated and reads "First New Jersey Theatre Festival, Opening August 14th, Irene Castle and Rex O'Malley in Noel Coward's To-Night at 8:30, 'Still Life' 'Shadow Play' 'Fumed Oak,' Air Cooled, Paper Mill Playhouse, Millburn, N. J." Its edges are frayed but the colors still pop. The stills show Vernon playing the drums, the Castle's studio, and a few shots of the couple dancing and embracing one another.
