Extremely rare Hindu Brown back card of Scoops Carey of the Memphis Chickasaws of the old Southern Association. Coming from the Charles Bray Collection (and is titled on the flip), this Southern Leaguer card has been deemed as AUTHENTIC ALTERED by PSA, and has several creases along with a slight trim along the bottom edge. Despite these issues, the card displays tremendously with very bold color, is well-centered and contains a bold strike on the reverse. Charles Bray was the first full time sports card dealer, advertising in his own publication the Card Collectors Bulletin, and organizing the very early trading sessions among the earliest card collectors. He was also the "right hand man" for the patriarch of card collecting, Jefferson Burdick, and helped Burdick categorize his massive collection, which now resides in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
