Sterling silver lifetime pass was issued to southpaw Rube Marquard, a man who was dubbed the $11,000 lemon in the early years of his career. The future HOFer would go on to win three consecutive pennants with the Giants. This pass was probably issued to Marquard in the 1930s-40s as it has Will Harridge and Ford Frick listed as the League's presidents. This beautiful piece is engraved, “National American Major Leagues of Professional Baseball Present This Lifetime Pass to Rube Marquard In Appreciation of Long and Meritorious Service William Harridge American League Ford C. Frick National League." Lambert Bros. Jeweler's stamp on the back. Appears to have been re-silvered at some time. EX condition, measures 2.75 x 4.25"
Addendum: This pass is silver plated- not sterling silver as described.
