This outstanding glove was presented by legendary New York Yankee Derek Jeter to his Coach Hector Lopez early in his storied career. It has seen tons of use, which would suggest it was used during Jeter's rookie year in 1995 and was given to Lopez the next year (hence, "rookie"). Lopez himself is former two-time Yankee World Series Champion in '61 and '62 and coached Jeter in Tampa during Spring Training. The Black Rawlings model PRODJ2 has "Derek Jeter" embroidered on it with a faded label from the searing Tampa sun. Jeter was the focal point of the Yanks most recent dynasty, capturing four of five World Series from 1996 to 2000 and a bonus one in 2009. He was named an All-Star a whopping 14 times, and additionally won five Gold Gloves and five Silver Sluggers. His number "2" was retired by the Yankees following his departure from the playing field in 2014 after having spent his entire career in the Bronx. The glove was obtained directly from Lopez and comes with a signed letter from him.
