Hockey Canada set their sights high when they issued invitations to both Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux to join the Team Canada roster for the 1988 Winter Olympics. The team’s training staff, in hopes that one or both superstars would accept the offer, placed the uniform order with an extra set of numbers “66” and “99”. Offered here are the home and road CCM Team Canada jerseys ordered for use by Wayne Gretzky. Wayne’s familiar “99” sits on the backs and sleeves and the nameplates read “Gretzky”. Both jerseys are tagged in the neck by Maska Air-Knit with size 54 in ballpoint. Obviously, the shirts show no use. Wayne has added large, perfectly formed autographs on the back numbers of each jersey. A detailed Letter of Authenticity outlines the unwavering provenance.
