Worn in game action during the 1978 season by Cincinnati Reds legend Johnny Bench, this home jersey is all original and shows nice use. The Reds logo is on the left chest area while the Hall of Famer's iconic "5" is on the right, "BENCH" is sewn directly on the back of the doubleknit top with with large "5" below. Inside the front tail is Rawlings size 44 tag along with "SET 1 1978" flag tag and additional "1 INCH EXTRA LENGTH" flag tag. There is a small stain on the bottom front tail and some slight red color transfers from the jersey being folded when still damp, but this remains a very nice example of a Johnny Bench game worn jersey. Bench earned two regular-season MVP awards and was also the Most Valuable Player in the 1976 World Series, which saw the Big Red Machine live up to its name in a four-game sweep of the New York Yankees.
