This gorgeous, hand-carved wooden statue of folk icon Woody Guthrie comes from the era when Guthrie was rediscovered by a new generation, at the time when Bob Dylan burst onto the music scene and brought folk to a wider audience. There is some paint loss and the guitar appears to have been re-affixed at some point due to glue being present. Incredible piece of folk ark with great detail stands on a museum quality base. Guthrie's impact on music and musicians is vast. Dylan, Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp and Jerry Garcia all considered him to be a major influence, and Guthrie's most famous song, "This Land Is Your Land," remains anthemic to this day. Stands 36" tall and 16" wide.
