Unique Equestrian Participation Medal from the 1956 Melbourne Summer Olympics. Oddly, the equestrian events for the '56 Summer Games were held in Stockholm, Sweden, as Australian agricultural quarantine regulations necessitated the change in venue. These events were also held five months prior to the start of the games. This oval-shaped bronze medal measures 1.5x2" and weighs 38.5g. The rim reads "XVI Olympiadens, Ryttartavlingar, Stockholm, 1956" and the center displays a horse and rider with the Olympic rings below. Minor surface wear, otherwise EX.
