Another mark of his stellar play in the 1959 season, Oscar Robertson was presented the award as MVP of the East-West All-Star game. Sponsored by the Ararat Shrine Temple to benefit Shriner's Hospital, the plate on the award reads, "Awarded by Fred Bellemere Jr., Illustrious Potentate, Ararat Shrine, to the Most Valuable Player, East-West All Star, K.C. Mo. 1959." The Big O would go on to win college basketball Player of the Year honors, with one sample of his greatness including a game against Indiana State in which he recorded 45 points, 23 rebounds, and 10 assists.
