'In original folder, this original artwork shows the design for a JFK medal from Bates and Klinke, Inc of Attleboro, Massachusetts. Bates & Klinke was founded in 1919 by Harold Bates and Oscar Klinke and specialized in the design and manufacture of souvenir and sterling commemorative spoons, giftware and military insignia. they later added brass and pewter souvenir giftware. All indications are that this medal was never created. EX-MT.
Also included are: 1) Original ornate art (2.75x6") in Bates & Klinke folio of St. Louis Cathedral (a.k.a The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis) perhaps for a sterling spoon handle; 2) Original art (2.5x4") in Bates & Klinke folio of equestrian show jumping with BC logo on end of fob. Inside of the front folio is handwritten, "Make out of RL Brass". This appears to be for a tie tack. 3) Original art (2.5x4") in Bates & Klinke folio of pin for J. Greenleaf Whittier. This appears to be a pin and includes a maple leaf in the center with metal 'W'. Written in pencil on the art is, "Green enameled leaf with metal letters". 4)
