Fantastically old and beautiful equipment trunk used by the Frontier hockey team in 1884. The top reads "Frontier, 1884, P.C" with two vintage crossed hockey sticks and a puck. The game itself had just begun to take hold in Canada at the time. The first ever organized and recorded game of ice hockey took place on March 3, 1875, in Montreal. The trunk opens up to compartments for each player - one has a pair of skates - and would have been toted around for game day or practice. At the time the trunk was in use the sticks were much shorter than today's game. Solid wood construction. Handmade with original paint. This gorgeous black box with elaborate red and gold lettering measures 48x21x8". Player names include "M. Burns, C. Ross, W. Burns, S. Gard, W. King, E. Gard." This is an unbelievable opportunity to own a stunning piece of hockey history.
