Incredible collection of responses to autograph requests by a single collector, featuring correspondences from sports legends, titans of industry, historical figures and even a President. The set hails from one collector who wrote to each figure asking for an autograph. Each comes with return envelope from the signer and most of the signatures have been graded by PSA. Here is a complete list: Babe Ruth (PSA 8), Amelia Earhart, Knute Rockne (PSA 8), Henry Ford (PSA 8), Walter Johnson (PSA 10), Robert T. "Bobby" Jones (PSA 8), Clarence Darrow, Amos Alonzo Stagg (PSA 10), President Calvin Coolidge (PSA 9), Charles G. Dawes (PSA 9), WWI Secretary of War Newton Baker (PSA 9), Andrew Mellon (PSA 9), Will Rogers (PSA 8), Vice President John Nance Garner (PSA 10), Governor Myron Herrick (PSA 8), Coach Howard Jones (PSA 9), boxer Primo Carnera, (PSA 8) financier Henry Morgenthau (PSA 10), Vice President Charles Curtis and PM Ramsay MacDonald (PSA 10). Babe Ruth's name appears on a signed letter and Howard Jones a 3x5" photo, while the rest are signed on envelopes, business cards, or small cards. The timing of two of the responses is notable, as Rockne signed 10 days before his legendary "Win One For The Gipper" speech, and Earhart's came eight months after her famous 1932 transatlantic solo flight. They are all beautifully preserved and the signatures are outstanding. Amazing confluence of signatures from a diverse and distinguished group of American figures. Each item comes certified by PSA. The Amos Stagg handwritten letter in pencil has been deemed a secretarial version, and not included in the lot.
