An elder statesman of the Steel Curtain, Andy Russell won two Super Bowls with the Steelers and was selected to the Pro Bowl eight times. Russell was drafted in 1963, but after playing his rookie year decided to fulfill his ROTC commitments and served in the military for two years. He returned to the team in 1966 and would go on to spend the next 11 seasons with the Steelers, having his best year in 1975, when he was named first-team All-Pro. This black, home jersey was game worn by Russell in 1974, when the team would go on to win Super Bowl IX - their first in franchise history. It shows heavy use, with loose threads, a stain on the front number "4", scuffs and abrasions, as well as 20 team repairs throughout the jersey. There is a "74" year tag and Sand-Knit size 46 tag on the tail. The jersey has long sleeves, and has been photo-matched to Getty image #56334840. All jerseys come directly from the Steelers archive and come with an LOA from the Steelers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Steelers Archives items will be donated to the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research.
