Combining exceptional speed and grace, Lynn Swann is assuredly one of the best wide receivers to ever don a Steelers uniform. After being named an All-American at USC in 1973, Swann was drafted by Pittsburgh in the first round of the 1974 NFL Draft, becoming the first piece of a draft class that included four future Hall of Famers: Swann, John Stallworth, Mike Webster and Jack Lambert. Though he didn't take on a featured role in his rookie year, Swann made a significant contribution to the team as a punt returner, and helped to win a Super Bowl in his first year in the league. In his sophomore season, Swann became a fixture of the offense, recording 781 receiving yards and a league-best 11 touchdowns, and his new role carried into the Super Bowl, in which he was named MVP in another Steelers win. Swann would go on to win two more Super Bowls with the Steelers and caught a touchdown pass in each game. When the sun set on his career, Swann retired with four Super Bowl victories, two Pro Bowl selections, and an NFL Man of the Year Award to his name. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001, already having been enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993. This fabulous jersey was game worn by Lynn Swann during the 1981 season, the year he was named the NFL's Man of the Year. The black, home jersey has a Steelers 50 Seasons patch on the left shoulder, and an "81" year and Sand-Knit size 44 tags on the tail. There are three team repairs present, as well as some scuffs and abrasions. The jersey has been photo-matched to an undated image.
