The 1951 National League tiebreaker playoff series was a result of the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants each finishing the season with a record of 96-58 and ultimately resulted in one of the most important home runs in baseball history with Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round the World." This canvas cloth banner was made for the 1951 World Series as it reads, "Welcome Brooklyn Dodgers, 1951, National League Champions," but Thomson's home run won the pennant for the Giants. In the center there is a photo of Ebbets field in the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge. Framed to 34x36" in original wood frame. Shows some surface wear, otherwise EX.
