Rachel Alexandra's unprecedented 2009 Horse of the Year season catapulted her into the upper echelon of the greatest thoroughbreds of all-time. Her record-breaking greatness was on display when she won the Kentucky Oaks by a record 20 1/2 lengths. She followed that performance by defeating the boys in the Preakness Stakes, a feat that had not been seen in 85 years. However, it was her breathtaking, dramatic victory in the G1 Woodward Stakes against older males that would ultimately define her greatness. Until Rachel Alexandra came along, no three-year-old filly had won a G1 route race against older males in New York since 1887. With her remarkable 2009 season, Rachel Alexandra became the first three-year-old filly to win the Eclipse Award for Horse of the Year and, in 2014, she was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. The subject of this listing is the winner's saddle cloth used by Rachel Alexandra in the 2010 G2 Fleur de Lis Handicap at Churchill Downs, a race she won by 10 1/2 lengths.
