The Cincinnati Reds of the 1970s dominated baseball like few teams have been able to before or since. Led by Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan and Tony Perez, the "Big Red Machine" won six NL West Division titles, four NL pennants, and two World Series during the decade. Their core lineup was dubbed the "Great Eight," which in addition to Rose and the three Hall of Famers included Dave Concepcion, George Foster, Cesar Geronimo and Ken Griffey, Sr. This World Series Championship ring comes from the height of the Big Red Machine's dominance in 1975. That year they finished with an MLB-best record of 108-54 and stomped the Pittsburgh Pirates in the NLCS before narrowly besting the Boston Red Sox in seven games to win the World Series. The ring, which was presented to a Director from the Reds organization, features one diamond in its center engulfed by a red stone and surrounded by the words "Cincinnati Reds, World Champions, 1975." One side reads, "Odenwald, The Big Red Machine," while the opposing side shows the Commissioner's Trophy with the score of the series underneath. A maker's stamp appears faded but visible on the inside, along with "10k." It is a size 11.5 ring in EX-MT condition weighing 31 g. This fabulous offering is a glitzy tribute to one of the best teams in baseball history.
