Considered one of the best third baseman in baseball history, Mike Schmidt was the former owner of this Adirondack/Rawlings bat game used in 1986 - the year Schmidt won his third and final NL MVP Award. Schmidt played his entire 18-year stint in the MLB for the Philadelphia Phillies, finishing his Hall of Fame career with 548 home runs and 1,595 RBIs. He was also a 12-time All-Star, 10-time Gold Glove Award winner, six-time Silver Slugger, and led the NL in home runs eight times. Schmidt hit three home runs in pursuit of joining the 500 home run club with this model 154A bat, as denoted by the three bullet marks that appear just above the Rawlings label. Another excellent, distinguishing Schmidt characteristic can be found on the left barrel, which has been sanded down. The bat shows heavy use, with a slight crack to the handle, a heavy coat of pine tar on the handle, and numerous ball marks and stitch impressions on the left barrel. Blue bat rack marks are also visible on the front barrel, and cleat impressions can be seen on all sides of the barrel. The model number, order number "148" and the year are stamped into the knob, alongside Schmidt's number "20" and the letter "X," which are written in black marker. A gorgeous Schmidt signature appears on the barrel in 9/10 blue Sharpie. The bat received a grade of 9.5 from PSA, measures 35" and weighs 32.5 oz.
