Impressive large format of Alfred E. Neuman with blonde in the desert. An original drawing by Marin for the cover of German MAD 1st series - probably unpublished. Colored pencil, watercolors, airbrush on cardboard. Probably a draft for the MAD editorial board, signed by the artist Marin in 1995 and saved from the former MAD editorial office in Germany. The German covers are known to be a bit racy as evidenced here. The oven cooking on the cover of the magazine being held by Alfred E. Neuman has a tiny little image of him inside the oven. Such a small image, but it is accurately drawn; just amazing. Art size is 15.5x 21" and full frame measures 25x31".
