This circa 1988 Pittsburgh Pirates helmet was game worn by one of the most successful and controversial sluggers of all time, Barry Bonds. Playing the first seven years of his career in Pittsburgh, Bonds was twice named MVP as a Pirate. He continued his ascension to legendary status within the game when he moved west to join the San Francisco Giants in 1993, but also became embroiled in the steroids scandal that plagued baseball at the turn of the millennium. The size 7 helmet from a less turbulent period of Bonds' career has the inside padding removed and shows tremendous use with some scratches. The number "24" can be found on back with the ABC logo.
