Pioneering Topps card marvel Woody Gelman used to generate ideas, then put his thoughts to paper on these worksheets. This worksheet includes an example of the No. 1 card from the very rare 1965 Topps King Kong set, a Test Issue which was produced in very limited quantities before being removed from the market. The 8.5x11" standard size paper has IDEA at the top left, boxed off with classification lines above a rectangular boxed area, which houses the No. 1 card "Mysterious Expedition," which is taped to the paperwork. Pencil notes above at the top left indicate this is a "TEST SERIES" with "PUBLISHED CARD" with "COPYRIGHT MERCH." and "KING KONG" at the top right hand side. Near the lower right is the year "1965," The fully printed card is in MINT condition, but is taped along the left hand side to the paperwork. This item is likely a one-of-a-kind piece direct from the Topps archives, with the subject the extremely rare and desirable 1965 Topps King Kong Test Issue, one of the most rare Topps issues ever, worked and prepared by the master himself; hobby pioneer Woody Gelman.
