The only pitcher of the modern era to win 200 games but lose more, Louis Norman "Bobo" Newsom had a checkered career in the Major Leagues that spanned three decades. This jersey comes from the twilight of Bobo's career, when he was trying to break back into the Majors in 1950 with the Chattanooga Lookouts. The flannel uniform is comprised of both shirt and pants and is in like-new condition. The amazing, sumptuous style features two layered shadow felt numbers and psychedelic colors. The front proudly displays "LOOKOUTS" with "31" on the back and a yellow patch on the left sleeve commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Southern Association. A "Rawlings St. Louis" tag can be found in the collar along with a size "50" tag. The pants are size 42 waist. This offering comes to us by way of Richard Merkin, a gifted artist and dear departed friend of Leland's, remembered for his awesome collection of baseball memorabilia and for being on the cover of The Beatles' Sgt. Peppers album.
