Here's a spectacular offering - the toughest of all Ted Williams game used items, and the only Williams glove we have ever handled. The stark aroma of the well-used leather sets the stage for this gorgeous Wilson Ted Williams model, which shows great use. Handwritten "Williams" is on the web, with vintage "9" written on in ink and one lace at the tip of a finger is broken. Remnants of the red-and-black Wilson label remain on the wrist strap; the colors changed to black and yellow in 1957, which helps date this specimen, which was obtained in 1955 from John Orlando, Red Sox clubhouse man. It was given by Orlando to a season box seat holder at Fenway Park and comes with the former owner's notarized letter; letters from Dennis Esken and Joe Phillips are included. Hard to overstate the rarity and value of this treasure.
