Ray Mancini fought Duk Koo Kim on November 13, 1982, in Las Vegas. After a very difficult fight Mancini knocked Kim out in the 14th round to successfully defend his WBA World Lightweight Title. Kim died as a result of head injuries he received from blows during the fight.
