Attractive symbol of the ceremony from the Hitler hosted Olympic Games of 1936, where Jesse Owens made his legend. 11" sterling silver Olympic torch was used to carry the Olympic flame from Greece to Berlin for the 1936 Olympic Games. The route taken by the Olympic torches is engraved on the side of the torch, which also has an engraving of an eagle holding the Olympic rings in his talons above the words, "Fackel-Staffel-Lauf, Olympia-Berlin, 1936." Carries the Krupp Company of Essen stamp underneath the 6" diameter circular base, which once held the flame. Top of the base reads, "Als Dank Dem Trager, Oranisations-Komitee fur die XI Olympaide, Berlin 1936." In stunning NRMT condition.
