The first of its kind that we have seen or handled, this Cleveland Bronchos photo postcard has some toning around the edges and some staining on the back. The corners are slightly rounded and there's also some light ink staining on front of the unposted card. Team nicknames were not as formal in the early 1900s as they are now, and the Bronchos (or Broncos) was only used for the Cleveland entry in the 1902 season. They eventually became the Naps (named for Nap Lajoie, who is depicted on this card), and then the Indians. Players are posed in studio with child (mascot) and equipment front and center.
