A point-shaving scandal emanating at City College of New York and spreading to six other schools gave college basketball a black eye in the early 1950s, with most of the key players hailing from the 1949-50 NCAA and NIT champion CCNY Beavers. 6-8 center Junius Kellogg of Manhattan College brought the nefarious activity to light by reporting a bribe offer to his coach and, ultimately, the district attorney. He eventually wore a wire to implicate the organized crime culprits and the schools involved. These eight wire photos depicting the events of the scandal come in various sizes and are stamped by Bert Sugar (Pioneering sports collector + writer) in the 1950s. The overall condition is Good.
