Pittsburgh Pirates owner Barney Dreyfuss sent this note to Pirates Hall of Famer Max Carey, dated March 1st, 1926, and typed on Pittsburgh Athletic Company letterhead. In the prosaically-written text, Dreyfuss inquires about an illness from which Carey was suffering and offers his best wishes. The letter is folded, but otherwise MINT, and the signature in black fountain pen rates 9/10. Known for his role in overseeing the completion of Forbes Field in 1909, Dreyfuss was, himself, inducted into the Hall by the Veterans Committee in 2008. Comes with SGC and PSA LOAs.
