This photo itself is a classic image of Babe Ruth in the dugout covered sympathetically in a blanket. This is an outtake from that session showing the Babe sitting with a famed Philadelphia sportswriter. The 8x10" is personalized, "To C.W Duncan From Babe Ruth, Aug 12 1933." That day, the Yankees had double-header vs. the Philadelphia A's, and despite the midsummer date, the Bambino is depicted in the dugout wrapped in a blanket. Ruth had a pair of hits and an RBI in the twin-bill, and just 19 days later, he announced his retirement from baseball. The photo is in VG-EX condition with a tiny hole at the top right corner, barely visible to naked eye, and small creases on the bottom corners with minuscule paper loss on top/right edge. Included is JSA LOA verifying that the black steel-tip fountain signature and inscription are all in the hand of the pinstriped legend.
