As documented in the Will Smith movie "Concussion," Mike Webster's multiple head injuries during his 16-year NFL career touched off shockwaves that are being felt today. This Pittsburgh Steelers jersey was game worn by the Hall of Fame center during the 1985 season. The black top has Exclusive Pittsburgh Steelers and Medalist size 50 tagging on tail with "85" year, and the trench wars of an offensive lineman are evident in the 10 team repairs and heavy use to the front numbers. His number 52 is in white on front, back, and sleeves, and "WEBSTER" is sewn in yellow letters on a nameplate on back. An autopsy after Webster died of a heart attack at the young age of 50 showed the harmful effects that the years of contact had on his brain, which has led directly to improvements including the current concussion protocols.
