Hall of Fame outfielder Enos Slaughter is best known for his race around the bases in Game 7 of the 1946 World Series, scoring from 1st base on what was basically a single to left center, winning the Series for the St. Louis Cardinals. But he was also the left fielder for the New York Yankees during Don Larsen's perfect game. During the 1948 season, when this card was issued by Bowman Gum Co., Slaughter was smack in the middle of his brilliant career. This card appears as if it was produced yesterday. Perfectly centered with a crisp image and four sharp corners, the reverse is exquisite with a perfect print strike dead-centered. Of the almost 600 cards viewed by PSA, a mere nine cards have graded at PSA MINT 9, with none higher. We can't imagine a nicer example, both front and back.
