Lovely 1930s Kimball piano in original walnut finish is the original piano Leland's Chairman Joshua Leland Evans used to learn to play starting at the age of six, and has used throughout his life. Has a wonderful hearty tone, it was purchased in 1967 from William Morecraft of Princeton, New Jersey (now deceased) for $600. Morecraft was one of the more respected tuners and players in the area and was known to tune the Steinway at Princeton University for special concerts including most famously that of Artur Rubinstein. Measuring 70" in length, 58" in width, and 42" tall, it shows some wear from use but plays beautifully. Sadly, it is being sold to make room for a larger Yamaha Grand. It was also used by Josh's father Stuart Evans (1928-2009) composer of "Put Out The Light" (1942). Winning bidder's check will be made out directly to the National Kidney Foundation.
