Evoking images of fast cars and checkered flags dating back over a century, this splendid selection of tickets and track passes celebrates the grand history of the Indianapolis 500. In excess of 100 tickets are present in this lot, which features stubs from 1916, 1920, 1921, 1922, 1923, then 1928-1994 (only missing 1942-45), with 30 duplicates from the 1916-69 period. The 1971 stub is signed by legend Al Unser, and full tickets include 1926, 1927, 1972, 1979, 1981 (2), 1982 (2), 1986 (2), and 1988. A total of 24 track passes spans the period of 1928-1947, with both 1940 track passes made out to "Bob Swanson." These Brickyard mementos are in varied condition, though overall they are extremely well preserved, fitting keepsakes from the event known as "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing."
