From the second full season of a Hall of Fame career spanning two decades, this one of the finest and earliest George Brett bats one will ever find. In 1975, Brett became a fixture in the Kansas City Royals’ lineup, leading the league in both hits and triples. This Hillerich & Bradsby model T85, measuring 33.75 inches and 31.5 ounces, originates from that season. It has pine tar on the upper handle and a slight crack, displaying great use with seam impressions, ball marks and bat rack paint transfers. A peace symbol is in blue marker on the knob, used to identify it as Brett's bat while in the team bat rack, and there’s a vintage signature on top of the barrel which is personalized to "Ed." Known for the infamous “Pine Tar Incident” against the Yankees in 1983, that substance – or rather, lack thereof – also helps identify the time period of this offering, as the three-time Silver Slugger winner used less of it earlier in his career, consistent with this specimen. A Letter of Authenticity is included, and PSA has given it a perfect score of GU 10.
